Confederate 2-cent Andrew Jackson tied by Raleigh, North Carolina, double circle cancel. Printed by Archer & Daly, a Richmond, Virginia company that also engaged in work for the Treasury Department. This issue was designated to prepay the circular and drop letter rate. However, strips of five were used to prepay the regular 10-cent rate. Line engraved on steel by Frederick Halpin. Earliest known cancellation is April 21, 1863.
