This is the only 1847 10-cent cover known from Iowa. It entered the mails on December 7 of an unknown year (believed to have been 1850), prepaying the ten-cent single rate for distances traveled in excess of three hundred miles. The cover is addressed to Miss Catharine E. Snyder, Morristown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
