U.S. Post Office Department chest badge, number 3655, with vertical hinged pin and safety clasp on verso. Spread eagle surmounts circular medallion with upper portion marked "UNITED STATES POST OFFICE" and lower portion inscribed "NEW YORK CITY, N.Y." Center of medallion bears a backward horse surrounded by the words "POST OFFICE DEPARTMENT, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA." The skirt is marked "3655" on raised crest.
