Telegram to A. F. Cryder, September 1918
September 4, 1918
Capt. Benjamin B. Lipsner writes a Post Office Telegram to A. F. Cryder in care of Postmaster Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. Lispner instructs him to immediately give Edward “Turk” Gardner [currently in Belmont Park, New York] full directions to the Lock Haven field. Belmont Park was the departure point for the New York to Chicago pathfinder flights of September 5, 1918. Lipsner also instructs Cryder to hand Gardner the map of Cleveland that was being mailed to him via the postmaster.
