Letter written about April 11, 1847, and taken directly to the Swallowtail Line sailing packet "Constitution" at Liverpool, probably as a consignee letter, which was not required to go through post office. "Constitution" arrived at New York on May 15, 1847. Letter was marked as an incoming ship letter with 7-cents postage due, 2-cents ship fee plus 5-cents US inland fee to Providence, Rhode Island.
