December 12, 1873, folded letter from Bell & Company, Havana, Cuba, to Boston, carried by New York, Havana, and Mexican Mail Steamship Company steamer "Cuba" from Havana (December 13) to New York (December 20). At New York, letter marked for 10-cents postage due, the rate for an incoming steamship letter carried by mail packet from a country with which the US had no postal convention.
