Letter to John Sanborn from John Davenport

This letter dated May 27, 1864, is marked "copy." It was handwritting and signed by John J. Davenport, who addressed the message to Captain John D. Sanborn, special postmaster, in reference to the appointment of Frank C. Bolt as mail messenger of the steamer Thos. Powell. At the bottom of this page is the signature of Sanborn in [acknowledgment] to the above letter.
