U. S. Post Office Department Rural Free Delivery (RFD) "Heller" cap badge, number 2, with eyelet and cross pin on verso. Elliptical medallion with upper portion marked "UNITED STATES" on ribbon pointing down and lower portion inscribed "MAIL". Numerical figure and "RFD" positioned in center of medallion. The badge shown was worn by Nicholas F. Frost in 1924 when he was appointed rural carrier working out of Benedict, North Dakota.
