This Right Guard deodorant aerosol can was gutted and fitted with a screw-on base for secreting everyday valuables. However, in this instance drug traffickers appropriated it for concealed shipments. The ploy failed; and, postal inspectors intercepted the can with two enclosed vials of illegal substances. For interdiction of illegal drugs in the mail, the US Postal Inspection Service uses a variety of investigative techniques including surveillance, tips, and cooperation with other police agencies.
