Brass, six lever, push key lock manufactured by the Mail Equipment Shops in Washington, D. C. The case front was stamped "STREET LETTER BOX LOCK, UNITED STATES, 12411" by the manufacturer. The number indicates usage on street letter-boxes. Locks marked METRO were also used on street letter-boxes; locks marked MV were used on motor vehicles.
