The engraving department's (?) design record for the 25-cent stamp of the Statue of Kamehameha I. A preliminary design has been sketched in the upper left and a proof of the United States 12-cent Henry Clay stamp has been affixed on the right side to indicate the color to be used -- "a purplish black." Specifications for the stamp lettering are provided. Someone wrote a vertical notation "Model made."
