Canal Zone Postal Administration · c. 1966
Working die on curved plate depicting jet liner and tail assembly; significant amount of rust on front and verso. The 8-cent die was used for embossing stamped envelopes for the Canal Zone Postal Administration. During the printing process, the recessed tail, jet, lettering, and numerical figures remained uninked, leaving instead a raised impression on the paper. C. Z. Scott UC8.
