Telegram to Benjamin Lipsner, January 29

Dated January 29, the 59-word Western Union telegram to Captain Benjamin B. Lipsner [in Cleveland, Ohio] from George H. Kelley [in Washington, DC] of the Signal Corps Equipment Division Lubrication Section was meant for Lipsner’s eyes only. Kelley informed Lipsner about personality defects in an unnamed man Lipsner believed was the best authority in the country on wheels and rims. Kelley admits that the man is “very likeable” but unfortunately talks “entirely too much” and is a disorganizing influence in an office. Summing up, Kelley admits the man is capable and dependable but “too talkative and theoretical.”
