18th Century
This blue and white glazed syrup jar has a straight spout and an applied strap handle. There is a raised band just below the flare that extends around the neck from one side of the handle to the other side. Two Putti are in the foreground of mountain vistas. The spout is framed by an escroll which wraps around the middle of the jar and is marked Ol: ex: Vesicis: Vlmi. The bottom of the foot is glazed and there is a makers mark obscured by applied labels.
