This tureen has a flared mouth and a domed-shaped foot . The vessel and its mate, 1991.0664.0582 have a deep blue glaze over a white glazed background with handles depicted as serpents. A label within the escroll is marked, Ell: d Ribes. The bottom of the foot is glazed and bares the makers mark of a lighthouse. According to pharmaceutical historian George Urdang the lighthouse is the mark of a well know Genoese pottery.
