This blown-glass jar has a wide mouth and is covered with leather secured at the neck with string. The shield-shaped label is outlined in brown and is marked <i>SAL3SE REPL</i> in alternating red and black letters. The jar contained Saccharum Saturn, sugar of lead which was prescribed as an astringent or antidiaphoretic.
