1825-1875
Shallow trapezoidal pan with sliding lid and a long, turned, wooden handle. The fixed pan bottom is riveted to a flat, wrought-iron arm with a vertical, rectangular slot peened through its socket end. The lid, stamped with a raised diamond inside a rectangle, is riveted to a tapering arm with a wide, notched and scrolled end that is inside the other arm's slot; depressing the tapered arm frees it to be pulled and pushed through the slot, thereby sliding the lid backward and forward. No marks.
