Caster Stand

1790-1815

This wooden table caster stand was owned by the Copp family of Stonington, Connecticut during the 19th century. It has a brass handle for carrying and places for four glass bottles and two smaller holes missing implements that are capped with ivory tops. The caster was placed in the center of the dining table and traditionally held dispensers for oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, and mustard.
