Montez, Lola · ca 1851
Black and white print of a ballet dancer (Lola Montez) dancing on point in first arabeque on a stage in a theatre with the manager looking on behind a piece of scenery. The manager has a contract in his large pocket that states that the manager receives half the house. Two other men are looking on, one in the first row of the audience is peeking hend his hands, the other is seated in the stage box, is trying to inconspiculously observe or ogle the beautifiul, scandalous dancer from behind a newspaper.
