The History of the Holy Jesus was published by John Green of New London, Connecticut in 1754. The book was published as a children’s book by an unknown author, who merely identifies himself as “a lover of their precious souls.” The twenty page booklet contains an introduction into how sin entered the world, followed by a brief account of Jesus’s birth, life, death, resurrection, and ascension into heaven based on the Biblical interpretation of events. The book ends with a hymn, or prayer to God to accept salvation.
