Joseph C. Hart authored <i>A Modern Atlas of Fourteen Maps</i> in 1831 to be a companion to his geographical exercise book. The exercise book contained over ten thousand questions relate to geography, while the Atlas had maps of Mercator’s projections, North America, the United States, the State of New York, the West indies, South America, Europe, Great Britain and Ireland, Germany, the Mediterranean Sea, Asia, the Pacific Ocean, Africa, and Africa’s interior.
