L. E. Knott Apparatus Company
The “Knott, Boston” inscription on one leg of this instrument refers to L. E. Knott, an apparatus firm that began in business in 1895. Knott termed it an Improved Sabine’s Torsion Pendulum for determining the moment of torsion of a wire and the moment of inertia of a ring.
