Jacquard woven ribbon with floral design of polychrome flowers with green leaves on black ground; flowers cascading from stylized leaves formed into a rondel; stylized ancanthus leaves form a serpentine coil that starts at the border and curves into rondel at center; yellow band along edges with interior decorative design of repeating yellow circles along edges. Fabricated in St. Etienne, France between 1850-1900. From the Merci Train or Gratitude Train from France.
