Jacquard woven ribbon with floral and botanical design of polychrome flowers surrounded by green leaves and red berries on black ground; flowers connected to serpentine curl of stylized acanthus leaves; brown band outlined with narrow yellow band and design of repeating diamond shapes on interior side runs along each edge. Fabricated in St. Etienne, France between 1850-1900. From the Merci Train or Graditude Train from France.
