A 42-star United States flag commemorating an 1890 Boston reunion of soldiers from the 54th Massachusetts Infantry regiment who survived the battle of Fort Wagner in July 1863. The American flag is made of muslin and has 13 alternating red and white stripes and a blue canton with 42 white stars in the upper left corner. Stenciled in black on the white stripes is text that reads [54th MASS. INF / FORT WAGNER / SURVIVOR REUNION / BOSTON, MASS. / JULY 18, 1890]. The flag is matted and framed.
