Black silk velvet coat with white fur collar and sleeves

A black silk velvet coat with a white fur collar and sleeves. The coat has a two layer white fur collar. The back of the collar is lined with black silk satin. The long sleeves are a leg of mutton variation, the top half are made of fur, and the bottom half are made of black silk velvet. The coat is open in the center front and closes with a self fabric covered metal button on the proper left side under the collar. A self fabric loop at the top edge of the proper right side of the center front opening aligns with the button. Two self fabric ties twenty and a half inches long start on each side of the collar. Three darts each three inches long are sewn along the top center back of the coat. Two sets of princess seams are sewn on the back of the coat which continue to the hem. The coat is self faced along the center front opening and is lined with cream silk satin. The construction of the lining mirrors the construction of the exterior. White cotton flannel and black cotton is placed between the silk velvet exterior and silk satin lining. The lining and exterior fabric are folded, and hand sew together along the hem. A woven fabric label is sewn at the center back interior of the coat below the neckline. The label reads [Lord & Taylor / YOUNG PEOPLES STORE / New York].
