Pot used to serve coffee or tea from Wormley's Hotel

A silver plated and soldered pot used to serve tea or coffee at Wormley's Hotel in Washington, DC. The pot is oval-shaped, with a plain, cylindrical body, a small platform base, and a gently curved spout. The pot has a "C" shaped handle with one (1) circular, ivory insulator at each socket. The pot has a flat lid, hinged next to the handle, with a small ball knob at the center of the lid. On the inside of the pot, where the spout meets the body, there are small holes covering the opening. Inside the top of the lid is an etched number [578-44-7021]. On the bottom, center, are additional engravings and manufacturer markings. In the center, above text, is a small indentation of an anchor. Text underneath anchor is also centered [GORHAM CO. /0542 /SILVER SOLDERED /WORMLEY'S]. On the right, in the middle is a small indentation of a wolf's head.
