A black-and-white cabinet photograph of a man standing with a cane. Captured in studio against an ornate backdrop, an unidentified dark-haired man poses wearing a thigh-length dark jacket, bowtie, bright shirt, button-down vest, medium-dark trousers and dark shoes. He holds a thin cane in his proper right hand, where on the same side is a cloth draped chair, a dark hat on the seat. He stands on a highly textured carpet gazing beyond the camera to his right. At the bottom of the photograph in dark brown ink is: [O. S. Goff, Dickinson, / N. Dak.]. There are various graphite inscriptions on the reverse of the cabinet photograph.
