A braided straw hat with a blocked flat crown and short stiff brim. The crown and the brim are made of two separate pieces of braided straw that are stitched together. The rows of braid making up each section of the hat are machine stitched together. The brim is slightly wider at the front and is shorter in the back. A brown petersham ribbon is machine stitched to the hat's inner circumference. Two thin metal wires are hand stitched to the inside of the hat behind the petersham ribbon. The hat is unlined and unlabeled.
