B, U.S. 24th Infantry Regiment.Captured in studio against a floor length cloth backdrop, an unidentified Buffalo Soldier gazes directly into the camera. He wears a uniform of bowtie, white shirt; dark button-down vest and jacket; bright trousers, and dress shoes. There are chevron and straight embroidered bars on both sleeves of his jacket. The chain of a pocket-watch hangs from his vest, through a buttonhole to his proper left vest pocket. His small uniform hat rests at the top of a large prop by his proper left leg.
