This streamer belonged to General Colin Powell and was awarded for his participation in the Southwest Asia theater of operations during the Gulf War. As Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Powell oversaw the U.S. military's response to the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, including Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. The three bronze stars indicate participation in the three authorized campaigns, including Defense of Saudi Arabia, Liberation and Defense of Kuwait, and Southwest Asia Cease-Fire.
