Tintype in carte-de-visite of an unidentified woman. The woman is in profile facing toward the left. She is wearing a dark dress with a white collar that has a brooch in the center. She has a dark ribbon tied around her neck and her hair pulled back. The mat around the tintype has an oval center for the photograph. Surrounding the oval are two lines of red ink. The outer edge has a red border as well with scroll work design at each of the four corners. The back of the carte-de-visite has paper adhered to the tintype to keep it in place. The back is blank.
