A sepia tone albumen cabinet photograph of a young woman, by Roeder Brothers of Fort Sill, Arkansas. Captured in studio within a window backdrop, an unidentified woman with dark curly hair poses leaning on her proper right arm, gazing directly at the camera. She wears a ring in her proper left ear and on her proper left hand. She wears a fitted button-down bodice and dress and rests her face in her proper right hand. At the bottom of the photograph in brown ink is: [Roeder Bros., No. 515 Walnut Street, / FORT SMITH, ARKANSAS.]. On the reverse of the card are various graphite inscriptions and ink printer’s marks. The marks, in brown ink, read: [Roeder Bros., / LE[illegible]D[illegible]G / Photographers / West Arkansas, / RAITS a specialty / of this photograph is preserved for / the smallest locket, or enlarged / to life size and finished / in Crayon, Ink or / Water Color.].
