One (1) lapel pin for the U.S. Army 48th Infantry Regiment (Dragoons) worn by General Colin L. Powell. This octagonal gold metal lapel pin features a coat of arms shield style design with navy blue background and a large gold dragon with red tongue and claws facing left. In the top left corner of the face is a small square canton of white enamel with a navy-blue chevron wave bordered in gold. Attached below the shield is a gold scroll with "DRAGOONS" in printed black letters. General Powell’s first assignment after basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia, was as platoon leader in the 48th Infantry Regiment (Dragoons) in West Germany.
