This 1/6 plate ambrotype depicts an unidentified man from the waist up. He wears a dark jacket, light shirt, and a dark ribbon tie at the neck. His cheeks have been hand-tinted pink, and a chain hanging from his waist has been tinted gold. The ambrotype is housed in a brown case and has an oval gold metal frame with worn decorative details including two crossed flags and a shield at bottom and top center.
