Banjo made by Lewis Snowden
Lew Snowden, American, 1848 - 1923 · 1860s
A six-string banjo handmade by Lew Snowden. The banjo is made of wood and metal with a skin drum head. The skin is split and curled in several places. The head of the banjo has only one tuning peg attached, and no strings are attached. There are faint white fret markings on the instrument's neck.
