The photograph on this postcard was taken by Arthur P. Bedou. Bedou was an American documentary and portrait photographer based in New Orleans. For nearly seven decades (1899-1966) Bedou photographed both everyday life and national events. He is most well-known for his images of New Orleans, Booker T. Washington, Tuskegee Institute, Xavier University of Louisiana, jazz bands, and photographs for The Louisiana Weekly and The Times-Picayune.
