A lantern slide of a man on a rearing horse with another man watching from horseback. The slide depicts a grassy field with a man, slightly left of center, riding horse that has reared upwards on its hindlegs. The horse’s front hooves are raised in the air and its belly is exposed. The rider is depicted in profile, leaning forward in his saddle with his arms pulling on the reins. He is wearing dark trousers, white long sleeve shirt, and a dark necktie. On the right side of the image is a second, partially visible man on horseback with his head turned towards the rearing horse. He is wearing dark trousers, a light long sleeve shirt, neck kerchief, and a wide brimmed cattleman hat. His proper right leg is out of the stirrup and his hand is gripping the pommel. There’s a coil of rope attached to the saddle by his thigh. The horse’s proper right flank, one foreleg, and both back legs are visible. The plate is in a tan and black cardboard mount, inside a black metal frame.
