A brown fur felt hat with a hat band. The hat is composed of two pieces (one for the hat crown and one for the brim) of brown fur felt that have been blocked to shape and machine sewn together at the outer circumference of the crown. Around the outside of the crown is a brown .75" rayon petersham ribbon that has been hand sewn into place. The hat band ends at the proper right with two 5.25" ties that have been folded and sewn at the ends. At the center of the crown is a circular fur insert measuring about 3", that has been hand sewn in place and the center of the crown has been slightly gathered in order to accomodate for the insert. The inside of the hat is unlined but a brown .75" petersham ribbon is hand sewn along the interior crown. At the center back is a white brand label that reads [DEBUTANTE / JULIUS GARFINCKEL & CO / WSASHINGTON , D.C] in black text.
