Handscreen

early 18th century

Shaped leaf of paper with embossed scrolls and flowers, gold edges, and a turned wood handle. On each side there is a larger center medallion printed in red, surrounded by seven smaller medallions printed in green. On the obverse, the central medallion has a figure of a young woman; on the reverse, a parrot on branch with squirrel is printed in the center medallion.
