Pillar and arch design featuring monument to George Washington. Rounded arch flanked by Corinthian columns supporting ornate architrave. In opening, a fenced-in altar with inscription "Sacred to Washington", surmounted by urn and eagle, and flanked by mourning figures of Liberty and Justice. In front, trophies of war including arms, drum and flags. Printed in grisaille on originally blue, now gray ground.
