A broad red stripe in the center has large block Arabic letters in gold; formerly, there were multi-colored arabesques in the interspaces between the letters, now mostly worn away. This is flanked by narrower patterned bands, which are separated by guard stripes of white, green, and very fine stripes of red, white, and dark blue.
