Folio 295r: Rustam Recovers Rakhsh from Afrasiyab's Herd

Rustam chooses to be hurled at the mountain, knowing the Div will toss him into the sea, By the time he returns to the spring, Rakhsh is missing. Rustam follows his tracks and eventually spots Rakhsh in a pleasant valley amid a herd of horses. This is in fact Alrasiyab herd. When Rustam ropes Rakhsh and rides off toward Iran, the whole herd follows, but they are pursued lirst by the royal Turanian guard and then by Afrasiyab and his paladins.
