Folio 155r: Rustam Weeps over His Dying Son: The Third Day

On the third day Suhrab and Rustam wrestle again, butthistime Rustam throws the vouth to the ground and stabs him. Ashe lies dving, Suhrab says that he had come secking Rustam but now someone else had killed him. Rustam then identifies himself and, tearing otf Suhrab's coat of mail, finds the onyx armband he had given Tahmina the night of their marriage. Understanding, fully the tragedy of his deed, Rustam weeps bitterly.
