A baby portrait of Roy Bert Keppy who was born on March 7, 1923. His parents were Anna Danielson Keppy and Henry Keppy. Roy Keppy was a prominent farmer in rural Scott County. According to an article in the May 25, 2005 edition of the North Scott Press,Roy has been credited with introducing crossbreeding to the hog industry, and was responsible for establishing many of Iowa's County Pork Producers organizations, including the one for Scott County in 1956. He was very involved with 4-H for most of his life and was involved with several different orgainizations involving the pork industry. He married Myrtle Eckermann in 1946 and they had four children, Glen, Dale, Annette, Ila Jean.
