This collection contains drawings and paintings I made in the early 1980s. I made most of them in the summer of 1981, while attending Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. I had just finished my freshman year at Sarah Lawrence College, where I had an excellent painting teacher who encouraged my love for abstraction and color field painting, but also pushed me to improve my modeling and perspective. These works are also influenced by psychedelic drugs, in part because I followed the Grateful Dead during this period. Unfortunately many of the drawings are in poor condition, due to inferior materials, excessive handling, and stains caused by masking tape. I scanned some of the pencil drawings in color and manipulated the color channels in an attempt to mitigate the masking tape stains.
