Folio 153v: Subrab Gains the Upper Hana: The Second Day

Rustam continues to conceal his identity from Suhrab and imagines his son to be sate with his mother. Thus, they again light all through the day until Suhrab lifts Rustam by the belt and throws him to the ground. When Suhrab draws his dagger, Rustam says that the rules of wrestling require him to be thrown down twice before the coup de grace can be dealt. Suhrab believes him, and they agree to resume the next day.
