Arthur a retired experimental/fine-art filmmaker/animator, screenwriter, and technical/scientific writer. He has an MFA degree in film production (USC) and an MSc degree in neurobiology (UBC). As an INTJ personality, his strength is introverted intuition; he is now an intuitive painter. Arthur creates contemporary Surrealist Symbolist paintings, where the spontaneous figurative images often produce a kind of cinematic narrative with unexpected meanings. His point of view often addresses universal themes with layers of ambiguity that make people think and feel beyond their conventional assumptions. Seven paintings were sold (numbers 16, 37, 87, 91, 105, 108, and 111). Influences include the pre-contemporary Surrealists and the “process painting” philosophy of Stewart Cubley (see REFERENCE).
