When the army of Salm and Tur has crossed the Oxus River, Faridun sends Manuchihr at the head of a powerful force to meet them. With the battle lines drawn, Qubad, son of Kava, leads the Iranian vanguard. Belore the battle can begin, Tur rides forth and questions Manuchihr's right to the Iranian throne.Qubad agrees to deliver the message.
