Folio 74v: Zal Dictates a Letter to Sam about Rudaba

Zal calls a scribe and dictates a letter to Sam disclosing, his love for Rudaba and asking his father’s permission to wed. He reminds Sam of the oath he made upon retrieving Zal from the simurgh’s nest to grant his every wish. Dismaved with his son's choice, Sam asks his astrologers, who foretell a son of Zal and Rudaba who will save Tran from the Turanians.
